Between clear requirements, tight deadlines, and the little surprises that projects tend to throw at you, the path to NETS certification was anything but easy. Our tranSvias team developed, tested, and fine-tuned the solution—and probably found themselves thinking more than once along the way: “This is going to be great,” closely followed by “This is going to be… exciting.” Now it’s clear: The effort was worth it. tranSvias LSVA is officially NETS-certified. And even more importantly: The solution has arrived in the day-to-day world of transportation—and in the end, one thing matters most there: the honest feedback from our customers.
Automatic Trailer Detection Put to the Test
But does the software hold up in real-world use? We didn’t want to wait until the end to find out. Working with our test customers, we assessed early on where tranSvias LSVA encounters limitations in everyday use, where processes run smoothly, and where further refinement is needed. This allowed us to identify challenges early, address them specifically, and continuously improve the solution step by step.
One key challenge was automatic trailer detection

Especially in parking lots or depots, where multiple trucks and trailers are parked close together, relying solely on positional logic can quickly lead to misclassifications. That’s why we designed the solution so that we use automation where it’s reliable while also offering manual correction and registration processes in the app and on the web. This ensures that the solution not only works technically but also remains practical in real-world transportation operations.”
The key point here is that we didn’t stubbornly insist on “full automation at any cost.” Instead, we developed a solution that combines technical intelligence with practical, everyday usability. Where automation works reliably, it takes over. Where everyday situations are more complex, the system provides notifications and supports the manual correction process in the app and on the web.

Truck Device easily mounted
With tranSvias LSVA, no device has to be permanently installed.
Our colleague Andreas Kleiner developed a matching housing for this and produced it using 3D printing. This allows the truck device to be simply placed inside it and quickly attached to the windshield.
No workshop visit. No additional costs. No complex installation.
