EPS Celebrates It’s 50th Anniversary
EPS is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and as part of the celebration, the company took a two-day trip through some of Switzerland’s most beautiful locations.
Day 1
Restaurant Bildhus
The journey began at EPS on Friday. Everyone met at EPS Software Engineering AG, Pestaalozzistrasse 27 and departed for the Bernese Oberland. Around 09:00, the team stopped for a quick coffee at Restaurant Bildhus and continued to wells.
Vierwaldstättersee
The company took a steamboat from Brunnen to Lucerne, a city known for its medieval charm and stunning Alpine backdrop. During the cruise, the group stopped for lunch on Lake Lucerne and admired the colorful buildings along the shore.
In Lucerne, they discovered the city’s famous covered bridges, centuries-old landmarks that have endured time and history. The highlight was the Kapellbrücke, a wooden bridge built in 1406, decorated with 45 triangular paintings depicting the Dance of Death.
Interlaken
After the boat ride, everyone drove 68 kilometers to Interlaken and checked into the Mattenhof Resort. The historic hotel, set in an Art Nouveau building with 4.5 acres of parkland, offered stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. Later, at 18:00, the group boarded a century-old cog railway to Harder Kulm, Interlaken’s home mountain at 1,322 meters. At the summit, they enjoyed an aperitif followed by a scenic dinner at the Panorama Restaurant.
Day 2
Jungfraujoch
The next morning, everyone departed at 09:40 for Jungfraujoch, a top attraction in the Bernese Oberland. After arriving, the group enjoyed lunch at the Glacier Restaurant and explored the area. Among the highlights, the Jungfrau Panorama offered a thrilling 4‑minute, 360° cinematic view of the surrounding peaks. For an even higher vantage point, visitors rode the elevator to the Sphinx Terrace to see the Alps and the Aletsch Glacier, Europe’s longest.
After returning through the underground tunnel, the team stepped onto the Aletsch Glacier and tried different activities. However, with only ninety minutes before the return train to Grindelwald, time was limited. It’s best to plan ahead if you want to fully experience all the glacier’s attractions.
Ice Palace
For the thrill-seekers, the Snow Fun Park offered snow tubing, zip-lining, skiing, and snowboarding. However, those looking for an outdoor recreational activity could have taken an uphill hike along the well-groomed snow trail out to Mönchsjochhütte.
Finally, the group made its way to the Ice Palace – a structure carved out of the glacier with multiple tunnels that showcased various ice sculptures.
After an eventful day in Jungfraujoch, the company made its way home and arrived in Wil at 19:00, ready for another productive week.

Despite traveling to these picturesque locations, the weather was foggy, making it difficult for the team to fully enjoy the grandeur of each setting. Therefore, it is critical to check the weather forecast and make plans accordingly.
A wonderful excursion with very satisfied participants came to an end on Saturday evening.
